About Casa Escondida

6 bedrooms · 6 bathrooms · sleeps 12 guests · 45 min from Puerto Vallarta (PVR)

Casa Escondida sits on the sand at Ranchos Estates, a gated enclave on the eastern shore of Punta Mita in Nayarit, Mexico. The name means "hidden house." An arched stone entry and a sand-floored courtyard with a slim reflecting channel screen the rooms from the approach, so the villa reveals itself in stages rather than all at once.

Inside, roughly 2,300 square feet of living space is finished in carved wood and hand-set stone, with louvered shutters, woven textiles, and Mexican folk art rather than a single uniform scheme. Six bedrooms, each with an ensuite (private bath) bath, sleep up to 12 guests; a four-poster king anchors the primary suite, and the layout runs from king rooms to a rope-hung palapa (a traditional open-sided, thatched-roof pavilion) room.

The interior pavilion opens to the beach through folding glass and ornate timber doors, so the living and dining areas read as covered outdoor rooms when the panels are drawn back. A three-tiered infinity pool steps toward the water, with a separate heated hot tub alongside it and a thatched palapa shading the lounge and surfboard bar.

Two kitchens handle the cooking. An interior kitchen pairs a black-granite island with a Sub-Zero refrigerator and copper pendants; an outdoor terrace adds a wood-fired dome oven and a gas grill. Dining happens indoors beneath copper pendants, under the palapa at a long table, or outside on the sand.
